Juniors 2017 / 2018 Season
As a responsible Table Tennis Club we try to treat all youngsters with respect and to that end we have
produced the following Safeguarding Policy Document
LATEST NEWS
National U/10 to U/13 Championships
These will take place at the Aldersley Leisure Centre in Wolverhampton over the weekend of 16th/17th June.
Table Tennis England have invited 4 of our young players to take part:-
U/12 and U/13 Boys - James Hamblett
U/12 and U/13 Girls - Isabelle Lacorte
U/12 Girls - Indu Pawar
U/13 Girls - Heidi Oestreicher

National Juniors and Cadet Championships
These were held at the Aldersley Leisure Centre in Wolverhampton over the weekend of 28th/29th April.
Unfortunately Ilyssa Lacorte (Cadets Championship) did not have a good weekend and failed to get out of her group.

In the Junior event Charlotte Marsden won her group, beating 2 others ranked above her. Unfortunately her reward was a match in the first round against the No1 seed (Charlotte Bardsley) in which she lost a 4 set match.

Milton Keynes Junior Open
Many congratulations to the club’s James Hamblett on winning the U/13 event when this competition was held early in the
New Year. Playing some awesome table tennis, James took out Bertie Kelly (Somerset) the England No 5 in the semis
before going on to beat Felix Thomis (Berkshire) the England No 3 in the final.

Isabelle Lacorte named in England’s Inaugural 9-13 Squad
Great things continue to happen for our young players with Isabelle Lacorte being named for the England 9 to 13 years squad.

Twelve boy’s and eight girls made the cut with the group being based at the University of Nottingham under the direction of
England Head Coach Alan Cooke. This will act as a feeder into the England Youth Squad.

Grantham 4 Star Tournament 18th and 19th November 2017
Victor Ramirez-Rioja, Isabelle Lacorte, Ilyssa Lacorte  (unfortunately James Hamblett had to pull out through illness),

Under 13 Singles - Victor won his group beating Lewis Ellams (the group favourite) on the way. Victor then lost to
George Gerakios in Round 1.

Isabelle beat two higher ranked girls to top her group, in the first round she then lost to the number 3 seed (Anna Green)

Cadet Band 1 - Ilyssa beat both of the girls in her group. She won her first round match against Scarlett Anders, but then lost to Erin Green in the quarters.
Isabelle failed to get out of her group.

Cadet Band 2 - Victor won both of his matches to finish top of his group, he than had a hard fought round one win against
Anupam Tripath. In the Quarters Victor defeated the number 2 seed (Jake Hewitt) before finally losing out in the semis to
Ethan Scully (number 1 seed at the event).

Cadet GirlsSingles - Ilyssa had a tough group against Darcy  Proud (England Number 2) and Erin Green (England Number 8) and failed to get out of the group finishing third.
Isabelle also failed to get out of her group.

Junior Girls Band 2 - Isabelle finished runner up (losing to Anna Green in the final) but she beat the number 1
seed (Rebecca Savage) on the way.

Ilyssa went out to Tiana Dennision (England Number 13).

Junior Girls Band 1 - Ilyssa was knocked out by Lois Perryman (England Number 19)

National Championships
Well done to Isabelle Lacorte on defying the odds when unseeded she went on to reach the final of the Girls U/11 event at the National U/10 to U/13 National Championships held at Arena Sports in Kettering over the weekend of 7th / 8th June 2017.
She lost 11-7, 7-11, 11-9, 11-4 to the favourite and No 1 seed Anna Green from Nottingham.
Bromfield Trophy
Congratulations to Ilyssa Lacorte (on the left) and Charlotte Marsden when representing North Herts in the National Bromfield Trophy on 18th June 2017 they achieved Bronze Medal status finishing third behind Hull and eventual winners Crawley/Horsham.
